The Atlanta Falcons will play the New York Jets on Friday night in Week 2 of the NFL 2015 pre-season. Today's football game should be a good one as both teams gear up for the start of the NFL regular season, hoping to get off to the perfect start with a string of good results. The Falcon's Matt Ryan had a good season last year, gaining 415 completions from 628 throws for 4,694 yards and 28 touchdowns. In comparison Geno Smith for the Jets had 219 completed throws from 367 attempts for 2,525 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The offensive styles of these two teams were very different last term, with the Falcons relying heavily on the pass, where as the Jets were much stronger on the ground.

Of an average total yards per game of 378.2 for the Falcons, a massive 284.6 yards came on the pass, and just 93.6 yards on average came on rush.

In comparison, the Jets posted an average of 326.6 total yards per game, but could only manage a measly 184.1 yards in the air, but posted a much more respectable 142.5 yards on rush.

Chris Ivory did much of the damage on the ground for the Jets, carrying 198 times for 821 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Eric Decker had the most success in the air, receiving for the Jets, managing to receive 74 throws for 962 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Doing the damage on the ground for the Falcons last year was Steven Jackson, who went 707 yards on 190 carries for 6 touchdowns. On the pass, Roddy White scored 7 touchdowns off 80 catches for 921 yards. Julio Jones meanwhile was very impressive taking 104 receives for 1,593 yards and 6 touchdowns.
