Since the last article on "Attack on Titan" season 2's release date, there have been no new developments. But fans have been all too excited about it that hey have not stopped scouting for answers. While it may not have been what they are hoping for, fans at least get some good news about the anime coming their way.

Fandom Post reports that BS Premium is going to re-air "Attack on Titan" (known in Japan as "Shingeki no Kyojin) season 1 starting Jan. 9, 2016. Each Saturday from then until late March will air two episodes of the 25-episode season, with the final Saturday showing the three straight episodes.

The site also speculates that this is a clear sign season 2 is coming up, with the pilot episode possibly airing shortly after March 26, around springtime.

If this proves to be true, then the previous report that director Tetsuro Araki confirmed a mid-2016 release is highly likely to happen. He did not pin an exact release date but it hinted that the show will be returning no later than June. So an April release date is also a possibility, with April 2 or 9 a safe bet. This remains a speculation though.

It is understandable why fans of the manga-based animated series are getting all too excited about season 2's release. Season 1 ended more than a year ago and they are raring to know what else happens to Eren Jaeger, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, and friend Armin Arlert.

Recent rumours say that the sophomore season will centre on the 104th Trainees Squad, who are to battle it out with the Wall Rose-breaching Titans. Crossmap also reports that Captain Erwin Smith will lead an overthrow of the corrupt king.

A new "Attack on Titan" video game is also expected in February 2016, with the game landing on Sony platforms PlayStation 3, 4, and Vita.

Stay tuned for additional news on "Attack on Titan" season 2.
