Defending La Liga champions Barcelona will continue to try and capture the top spot in the table currently held by Real Madrid when they host Villarreal this Sunday at the Nou Camp.

Both clubs are in the top five of the La Liga table. Barca sit on the second spot with 24 points, tied with Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Villarreal are on the fifth spot having 20 points, which tie them with fourth-placed Atlético Madrid.

Along with the clubs being in the top five, both are also having unbeaten streaks of their own in all competitions.

Blaugrana are on a six-match unbeaten streak, with their last outing a 3–0 victory over FC BATE Borisov in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League.

The La Liga champions are still playing without injured club star Lionel Messi but they are faring well, especially with Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior going on an offensive tear.

In their win over BATE, the 23-year-old Brazilian had a brace to make him the sixth highest scoring Barcelona player in the Champions League, according to the club's website.

Neymar netted 16 goals in 26 games in the Champions League; two more will be tying him with Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o, who is the fifth on the list.

If Barcelona are riding a six-match unbeaten streak heading to Sunday's match, Villarreal are also having their own streak as they are unbeaten in four games. In their last outing, El Submarino Amarillo defeated FC Dinamo Minsk 2–1 in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.

The last time Villarreal played Barcelona was in the Copa Del Rey semifinal in which they lost. Now, they are gunning to avenge the defeat and move higher in the table.

The La Liga match between Barcelona and Villarreal will take place on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 11:00 a.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
