The animosity between Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) will get worse in the third season of "Better Call Saul."

Speaking with Los Angeles Times, McKean revealed how the rivalry between the McGill brothers began.

"His duplicity has been manifested all through the series. But, the very specific pain at the center of it, which has a lot to do with one simple fact, which is, 'I made my mom proud, but Jimmy made her laugh,'" the actor said.

McKean also mentioned that his character knows that he can always manipulate Jimmy using his little brother's genuine concern for him. He also said that Chuck enjoys seeing Jimmy go through all his problems.

Meanwhile, the writers of the show teased that there are a lot of exciting events happening in Jimmy's life in "Better Call Saul" season 3.

"I'm really excited to see the transition of Jimmy to Saul and how that really ultimately plays out," Gennifer Hutchison told Yahoo! TV. "I am really excited to see what happens once we get there and what does the end of Saul's story look like in this show, as opposed to [Breaking Bad], because I feel like he's such a different character. I feel like there's so much more to discover about him," the writer added.

Also, viewers of the show will also see more of Kim's (Rhea Seehorn) personal story and her background before she first encountered Jimmy. They will also have to look forward to the development of their relationship and how they deal with their differences despite her strong attraction to the small-time Albuquerque lawyer.

The third season of "Better Call Saul" is expected to premiere on AMC sometime in 2017.
