After Randy Pitchford, CEO of game developer Gearbox Software, announced that a new "Borderlands" game is already on the drawing board, fans have been looking out for information on when they can play the upcoming game. Unfortunately, it is not in the near future, and it may even be a year or two away.

The "Borderlands" series has created its own following and is considered a popular choice among the gaming crowd. The series offers non-stop action against crazed scavengers and planet Pandora's native killer creatures. Players need to get themselves busy with a replay of the "Borderlands" series since Gearbox Software is still heavily engaged with their newly released project, "Battleborn," Eurogamer reported.

The report also mentioned that Scott Kester, the art director for "Battleborn," will be joining "Borderlands 3." Mikey Neumann, Gearbox's creative writer, will be in charge of the story. Neuman mentioned that the most loved mechanic in the series, Scooter, has a son named Scooper, and will be joining the upcoming game.

Additionally, Newman did the voice of Scooter and might also be the voice behind Scooper. He said, "I did this whole Scooter thing, then I pitch-shifted it up like seven semitones so it sounds like a chipmunk and it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard."

Tech Times added that nothing is official and the team doesn't even have a proper name for the game. Pitchford mentioned, "We don't even know if we're going to call it that. We could call it 'Borderlands 4' for all we know," during the PAX East convention held last month.

Alphr reported that fans would likely be more interested in the upcoming game if there will be more conversations and interactions during the game and not just always shoot-and-loot, as well as a fun-filled driving experience and fewer repetitive missions. Additionally, an upgraded look for the planet Pandora will be highly appreciated, as well as an additional place to wander around.

"Borderlands 3" has no available release date yet.
