Amir Khan and his side are having great negotiations with Manny Pacquiao's promoter Top Rank's Bob Arum for a fight in 2016, but the British slugger still cannot hide his dismay of not getting a shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan has been linked to fighting Mayweather a number of times but the number one pound-for-pound decided to pass on him.

Now criticizing Mayweather's last career bout against Andre Berto, Khan called the undefeated American "very beatable."

"Mayweather's very beatable. If you look at when he fought against Berto. He was making a few mistakes, he was getting caught a lot, and something I've never seen before. Mayweather normally is a sharp fighter and never normally gets caught," Khan shared with Boxing News.

Khan believes Mayweather's age, 38 years old, was a factor to him getting hit in his fight against Berto and was a reason why he also decided to hang the gloves and not get in the ring with him.

The 28-year-old British slugger then stated, "Because he knew that Amir Khan's going to give him the biggest problems in his career."

Moving on from Mayweather, Khan is looking forward to a fight with Pacquiao, who was a former sparring and stable mate under trainer Freddie Roach.

"At this moment in time I think it can happen, it's all about just doing the little things, contracts and stuff," Khan said, according to Boxing News.

Their bout in 2016 might be the last for Pacquiao who is planning to retire from boxing to pursue his political career.

The Filipino boxing icon, who is currently serving as a congressman, already declared his intentions of running for a senatorial position in the Philippine elections which will be held May of 2016.

A Pacquiao–Khan fight will likely take place early next year, with Arum saying in a previous interview that he plans for it to take place in the last week of February or the first two weeks of April.
