"Ascendance", the second grand DLC pack for the "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" title is now available for Microsoft consoles. Those who wish to sample the game can check the release on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 as of this time, since Microsoft has an exclusivity agreement with game publisher Activision. The game's release for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PC is slated for next month.

As part of the second DLC to hit the "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" game, there are four new additional multiplayer maps – Climate, Chop Shop, Perplex, and Site 244. There are also two new weapons introduced, a directed energy hybrid that functions both as a machine gun for medium range and shotgun for close quarters combat, and the OHM Werewolf custom variant.

There is also an additional new playlist called Exo Grapple that makes use of faster ways to reach vantage points in a map and gives players another secondary weapon.

What is also new to the "Ascendance" DLC is the Exo Zombies Chapter Two. The new chapter for the zombie invasion mode pits players against tougher zombies, and most of them serve as mini-bosses for the level.

High Moon Studios, the team behind the zombie modes in the "Ascendance" DLC pack, added three new AI types to the zombie enemies. This makes them smarter and harder to kill. Also, the infection mechanic for the level is revamped. When players survive to higher waves of enemies the full zone becomes toxic for that given round and practically closes off the map, since players will have nowhere to go. Additionaly, the new Exo Zombies chapter introduces random civilians in the map, and players need to escort them to the safety of the evacuation zone.

According to Matt Tieger of High Moon Studios, the new mini-bosses for the zombie levels need to be dealt with using new strategies. He said, "In Exo Zombies often players split apart and take the threats between the four of them. If you do that with this guy you're going to have a hard time. He's really a 4 vs 1 strategy. It requires focused fire."
