"Call of Duty: WW2" will not include a feature that most fans have grown accustomed to. Ahead of this month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Sledgehammer has revealed that unlimited sprint will no longer be available in the title.

The feature has been a staple of most CoD game but it appears the studio have other things in mind for their latest game. For a franchise criticized for repetitive plot and mechanics, it could be a welcome change.

The detail was revealed by Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey on Twitter. When asked by a fan regarding unlimited sprint, Condrey simply replied with a "Nope."

There are no details on whether the changes will cover both single-player campaign and multiplayer of "Call of Duty: WW2." However, there is a possibility it will be added on multiplayer by means of a specialized perk.

However, this means that players will sacrifice one slot to accommodate it which will add more decision making in games. For players who like to move around, it will be a hard choice. Meanwhile, for those fond of camping, there isn't much to lose if they forgo unlimited sprint.

The feature was something fans demanded a few games ago and successfully received. It allows games to have a much faster pace that, despite adding excitement, it increases the difficulty for new players particularly for those new to the first-person shooter genre.

This will definitely become a controversial project among fans, especially those who have grown accustomed to unlimited sprint. However, it is unlikely that Sledgehammer will change its mind regarding its removal of the feature.

With E3 almost here, more details will eventually be disclosed regarding "Call of Duty: WW2." Multiplayer mode, in particular, is expected to receive much attention, as "Call of Duty" is just not that exciting without other people.
