Cleveland Browns quarterback Austin Davis will have the spotlight this Sunday as he was chosen as the starting quarterback for their Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Davis will be replacing original starter Josh McCown, who suffered a broken collarbone in their Week 12 loss to the Baltimore Ravens and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season as he was placed on injured reserve.

The 26-year-old player took the quarterback duties when McCown left against the Ravens and had a great performance.

In the defeat to Baltimore, Davis had seven completions for 77 yards and one touchdown, although he was sacked once.

Davis' touchdown pass to wide receiver Travis Benjamin tied the game, but the Browns were unable to seal the win against the Ravens, which marked their sixth consecutive loss.

Even though they came up short, Browns head coach Mike Pettine praised Davis and said in a statement, according to ESPN, "Austin took advantage of his opportunity on Monday night. He was prepared, played well and put us in position to win.

"He's been great in the quarterback room all season and he has earned the right to start on Sunday. We expect him to play well," Pettine added.

The game against the Ravens was the only regular season appearance Davis had this 2015 season so far, still he was chosen over troubled quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel has been playing well this season and improved his game, but his behavior during their bye week in Week 11 placed him third in the depth chart when they played the Ravens.

A video of Manziel partying surfaced recently and him lying about it to the team may have caused his chances of starting or even playing again this season.

Manziel will enter Sunday's game versus the Bengals as Davis' backup, but Pettine said that despite what happened, Manziel may still play this season and the team's quarterback situation is a "weekly thing," ESPN reported.
