Costa Rica are favorites to win Group B, which also consists of Canada, Jamaica and El Salvador. However, in their opening game they were only able to gain a draw in a 2-2 result with Jamaica.

Today's game will be one that Costa Rica feel they really should win if they are to show the form to prove they can go far at this year's tournament. Anything less than a win would spark waves of groans and complaints from fans back home in Costa Rica.

However, even though El Salvador are not considered one of the top teams in this year's Gold Cup they did fantastically well to hold Canada to a 0-0 draw in their opening game. They will look to come out today and frustrate the Costa Rica players, and not let them get into their stride or find any rhythm to their play.

It will be up to Costa Rica to take the game to El Salvador and pressure them into making a mistake so that can get the breakthrough.

An early goal for Costa Rica would immediately take the pressure off and if that happens the floodgates could open somewhat as El Salvador would have to push up to try and get the equalizer.

Today's other game from this group will feature Canada and Jamaica, and Costa Rica fans will be looking at that result closely today. With only one more game left of the group stages there is no time for any further hiccups and if they do not perform in the coming two games then they could end up struggling to get out of their group.

Costa Rica will be hoping to finish top of the group too, as this would potentially see them get a more favorable route through the knock out stages and avoid other top teams who are likely to finish top of their groups, such as Mexico and the United States.

Today's Gold Cup 2015 game between Costa Rica and El Salvador has a scheduled start time of 9 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the Fox Sports 2 network or online through live stream by clicking here.
