'Dead Island 2' beta coming to PS4 ahead of PC and Xbox One console

"Dead Island 2" beta version coming to PS4 soon. Deep Silver

PlayStation 4 owners will get to enjoy the upcoming beta version of zombie survival game "Dead Island 2" ahead of Xbox users. According to the FAQ of the game's website, the beta version will be available exclusively to PS4 users for a period of 30 days before it rolls out to Xbox One and PC. This is due to the allegiance between game publisher Deep Silver and Sony.

In order to be qualified to get the beta, gamers should have pre-ordered the game's spin-off "Escape Dead Island" released last month. The game comes with a beta code that can be used to retrieve the beta version. Deep Silver has not announced other ways on how to get the beta version, but the studio is expected to make announcements soon.

Deep Silver has not revealed the concrete release date of "Dead Island 2" beta since the game is still under development. The official version of the game is bound for release next year. There are speculations that the game will appear in the second quarter of 2015.

Based on the previous previews and spoilers of the game, "Dead Island 2" will feature a huge world, but rather than using the fictitious island in Papua New Guinea that was used in the previous game, it will reportedly feature Los Angeles, San Francisco, and another location in California . Some of the known features of "Dead Island" will be retained such as the Rage system that gives players a temporary boost as well as the weapon combining system.

"Dead Island 2" is a role-playing video game developed by Yager Development. It is set months after the events in "Dead Island" and "Escape Dead Island," and is said to feature California placed under full quarantine by the U.S. military because of a zombie outbreak.
