Disney movie 2018 news: What are the most anticipated releases next year?

The coming year will be a big one for Disney given all the movies that are set to be released. 

It has been 14 years but the sequel to the superhero animated movie "The Incredibles" is coming next year. Disney Pixar released the first teaser trailer of "Incredibles 2" and fans cannot get enough of Jack-Jack, one of the protagonists in the franchise. The movie will hit theaters on June 14, 2018. Disney and Pixar have not released any updates about the storyline of the sequel. The 2004 film received positive feedback from critics and high ratings from film review websites.

Another sequel is rolling in next year and this time, Ralph will break the internet. "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph" is scheduled to premiere on March 9, 2018. Ralph (John Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) will make their way to the internet in search for spare parts that they need to fix a broken arcade game. The film will also feature all Disney princesses and other characters from other Disney movie franchises like the Star Wars universe and Marvel comics.

In 2018, the magical English nanny will return. The musical fantasy film "Mary Poppins Returns" will debut in the United States on Dec. 25, 2018. Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt will bring the brilliant character to life in the fantasy film along with other talented stars like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Colin Firth, Ben Whishaw, and more.

Another star-studded release for 2018 is the science fiction fantasy film "A Wrinkle in Time." The cast consists of prominent names including Reese Weatherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Oprah Winfrey. The movie adaptation will be seen on the big screen starting on March 9, 2018.

As a holiday treat, Disney released the first trailer for its upcoming fantasy adventure film "The Nutcracker and The Four Realms." Young actress Mackenzie Foy, who will play the lead role Clara, will be joined by Academy Awards winner Morgan Freeman and Keira Knightley.

Disney will also be releasing new Marvel superhero movies in 2018 like "Black Panther," "Ant-Man and the Wasp," and more. The standalone movie "Solo: A Star Wars Story" will also come out next year.
