Dota 2 Tournament in Madison Square Garden: $250,000 prize pool

Electronic Sports League, in partnership with Twitch and ReedPOP, gears up for another ESL One Dota 2 tournament. After the success of ESL One last year, 2014, the sponsors have announced the event's return on October 3-4, 2015, which is only four months away. The said event will once again be held on last year's main stage, the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The event will follow last year's format where the best eight teams from all over the world, which are determined through various ESL One regional tournaments. Players will compete for the $250,000 prize pool through a series of games in Dota 2, a multiplayer battle arena game developed and published by Valve.

In an interview, Ulrich Schulze, ESL's Managing Director for Pro Gaming, said, "Bringing esports to the iconic Madison Square Garden last year was a dream come true, and our incredible fans have inspired us to make it a tradition."

"We're dedicated to making this event even more legendary, as we continue to tap into the $1 million prize pool we set aside for ESL One Dota 2 competition," he added.

ESL One 2014, in which Evil Geniuses, a team based in the U.S., were crowned as champions, will take place after Valve's official Dota 2 tournament, The International, is concluded. The set date of October 3-4 was specifically chosen so that the 5v5 Dota 2 tournament is in line with the New York Super Week; a pop culture festival that will feature concerts, cosplays, lectures, comedy shows and lists ESL One 2015 as one of its major events. According to ESL One's official page, people who will attend the said event can participate with in-game strategizing sessions beside professional players. Tickets and reservations for ESL one is available at their official portal. Ticket prices start at $59.
