Eminem new album 2016 release date may be set back as rapper focuses on different projects

A lot of fans are still waiting for Eminem to release his ninth studio album, but there's no official announcement just yet.

There could be a lot of reasons behind this, since the rapper has been busy with a lot of other projects. Some of these include soundtracks for several films, and he's been included on the official soundtrack for the most-awaited movie "Suicide Squad."

This film stars Jared Leto and Will Smith, and Eminem's early hit song "Without Me" is listed as one of the songs on the soundtrack. The soundtrack also contains music from other popular musicians such as Panic! at the Disco, Skrillex and Imagine Dragons.

His song, "Without Me," was released back in 2002 as the lead single for his fourth album, called "The Eminem Show." It secured the number 2 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 after its release. Furthermore, it was in the first place in 15 other countries in terms of popularity and was nominated at the 2003 Grammys for the Record of the Year award.

Another reason for the delay of Eminem's ninth album is a project in his home city Detroit, according to Deadline. He was tapped as a music supervisor and executive producer of a television drama produced by Paramount. If he agrees to take this job, it's possible for him to write at least one of the original tracks for this "Narc"-inspired series.

In that case, if he's going for this course of actions, he will certainly have less time to make his ninth album. But fans shouldn't lose hope as earlier this month a tweet by Snatched Bops said that it's possible for Eminem's album to be released late this year, which could include collaborations with various famous music celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
