'Frozen 2' release date; original cast to return

Elsa and Anna from hit animated film, Frozen cinemablend.com

Ever since the 2013 animated film Frozen hit unbelievable blockbuster status, fans have been wondering if a part 2 was in the works. The anticipation grew despite Disney's silence on the matter especially when Idina Menzel who plays one of the lead characters, Elsa, posted on Twitter that a second movie is in the works. However, she was quick to put a lid to this when she said she was mistaken and must have misunderstood some things. So when Disney finally confirmed earlier this month that a Frozen 2 is indeed in the works, fans were ecstatic.

The movie will be released on 2018. Dubbed as the highest grossing film as well as the 5th highest grossing film in history, Disney is dedicated to putting in the time for the best output. CEO Robert Iger said, "We're not demanding speed, we're demanding excellence."

As far as other details of the film is concerned, the good news has been confirmed that the roles of the main cast will still be played by the original actors. Josh Gad who plays Olaf, and Kristen Bell who plays Anna, expressed their excitement on their Twitter accounts for the second film.

Meanwhile, the rumors and questions as to whether Jennifer Lee, Chris Black, and Peter Del Vecho will be coming back has yet to be verified.

The film Frozen has been awarded two Academy Awards for the categories, Best Animated Film and Best Original Song (for the phenomenal song, "Let It Go" sung Menzel). It also bagged the Best Animated Feature Film award at the Golden Globe.
