'Girl Meets World' season 4 cancellation news, updates: Sabrina Carpenter to leave show amid album release?

Girl Meets World season 3 Disney Channel

With the Disney Channel still mum on whether it will be renewing its coming of age show "Girl Meets World" for a fourth season or not, fans of the series are facing an even bigger problem about the cast members actually returning for a possible show renewal.

In a report by Parent Herald, aside from the problem of whether the network will pick up the story of Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) now that the characters are about to graduate from high school and set off for college, there is the problem of whether Carpenter will be able to find time to continue with the show.

The young star recently launched her album "Evolution," and concert tours are expected to be part of the parcel, making it difficult for her to continue filming for the show.

Fans have been lobbying for Disney to make their stand on a renewal or a cancellation, even making a petition for the show to be picked up by Freeform, whose line up of shows is targeted towards young adults and is more attuned to possible storylines that a college setting for Riley and Maya could explore.

While renewal or cancellation remains up in the air for the show, cast member Will Friedle has released a funny video declaring that his character Eric Matthews is throwing his hat into the presidential race, MTV reported. Banking on his credentials as junior senator for the State of New York and former mayor of St. Upidtown, New York, the video — released last Oct. 26 — urged people to go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8 to cast their votes.

Eric's political party mascot is a squirrel and as part of his campaign costume, he dons a hat that has a dog who doesn't have any time for political discussions on it.
