The GoPro Hero 4 has enjoyed commercial success since its release last year, and now, consumers are looking forward to seeing its successor. Early this year, there were reports that fans of action video cameras will see a lot of specs improvements when the GoPro Hero 5 is released.

According to rumors, the device will have the capability to capture 4K videos at the speed of 60 frames per second. If true, then this will be a huge improvement from its predecessor since the GoPro Hero 4 can only capture 4K videos at 30 fps. It means that the upcoming camera will produce more vivid and dramatic scenes compared to last year's product.

However, Vine Report recently stated that the GoPro Hero 5 will be able to capture 8K resolution videos apart from being able to film in 4K, which earlier GoPro products are capable of doing. Also called the Full Ultra HD, 8K video resolution can provide clearer outputs with an outstanding 4,320 pixels. But the report also mentioned that users can still opt to shoot in 4K at 60 fps if they want to.

The upcoming device is also said to come equipped with an A10 processor as well as a bigger 2800 mAh battery that would allow the device to last for about two hours with just a single charge. Also, the GoPro Hero 5 will reportedly be equipped with dual lens to let the users capture 3D images.

While rumors claim that the alleged device could come out as early as October this year, GoPro has yet to comment on the validity of these reports.

Meanwhile, early this month, GoPro released a more affordable mid-range camera called the Hero+ LCD. It offers the touch screen technology that the San Mateo, CA-based manufacturer used with the Hero 4, but it is more affordable compared to the flagship camera product.

The GoPro Hero+ LCD also comes with user-friendly features like Instant camera editing, HiLight Tagging, QuikCapture, Auto Low Light function, SuperView, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Just like all the past cameras from the GoPro series, the GoPro Hero+ LCD can also be used while doing outdoor activities since the device is protected with heavy-duty, waterproof housing.
