Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears preview: NFL season 2015 Week 1 game schedule

Green Bay will be led by last season's Most Valuable Player (MVP) quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is looking to bring the team to another Super Bowl after winning it all in the 2010 season.

Last season, the Packers failed to reach the Super Bowl, losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game.

Rodgers played in 16 games last season having 341 completions for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Unfortunately, he will be missing one of his main targets as wide receiver Jordy Nelson is ruled out for the entire 2015 season after injuring his knee in a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"It's difficult to lose a guy like that in a meaningless game," Rodgers said following the preseason game.

Nelson was the leading receiver for the Packers having 98 receptions for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games played in the 2014 season.

The loss of Nelson prompted the Packers to re-sign veteran wide receiver James Jones to join a young core of receivers for the Packers led by Randall Cobb and Davante Adams.

Meanwhile, the Bears will be led by quarterback Jay Cutler who is looking to guide the team back to the NFL playoffs after they failed to reach it for the past four seasons.

Since Cutler arrived in Chicago in 2009, the team only made it to the playoffs once and that was in 2010 when it reached the NFC championship game but lost to Sunday's opponents, the Packers.

Cutler played in 15 games last season, completing 370 of 561 passes for 3, 812 yards and 28 touchdowns.

The Bears are looking for a major turnaround next season especially with a new head coach in John Fox.
