'GTA 5' DLC update news: gamers may get new story DLC soon

GTA V Rockstar Games

"Grand Theft Auto V," which launched back in 2013, has remained one of Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games' most lucrative titles, selling over 65 million copies and continuing to generate profits due to its online multiplayer mode. Now, according to a report from News Everyday, a new story DLC is right around the corner.

The game has not seen much new content for the single-player mode given that the game's main profits stem from the multiplayer aspects. However, the report points out that the developers are set on making a big announcement this coming E3, which indicates a new single player DLC that ties into the main campaign's story is set to be released.

According to the report, one of the most prevalent rumors is that the story DLC may be football-centric, indicating that the player might be able to take control of a brand-new character that could be a professional NFL player in Los Santos or at least feature a football mini-game that gamers could get into in between the game's main missions.

It is also speculated that the new DLC may introduce horse riding and casinos into the game, although Rockstar Games has yet to confirm or deny any of these rumors. It is unknown at this point if the developers are indeed set on releasing a brand new story DLC that could come with a series of new features, vehicles, locations or weapons.

However, a report from Gamespot revealed that Take-Two and Rockstar Games are set on revealing new games "soon," although no specific date was announced. Given the timing of the report, fans have speculated that this announcement will be during E3 but it is unclear if this announcement concerns a new DLC pack for "GTA V" or a new game altogether such as "GTA VI" or "Red Dead Redemption 2."
