'Half-Life 3' release date news, rumors: Game could still be released, according to Valve dev; VR experience highly likely

"Half Life 3" is expected to arrive but not anytime soon. Steam

Even after numerous years, the development of the much-anticipated game "Half-Life 3" is still uncertain. Fans are certainly doing their best to stay positive and hope for the best as it is possible that news of its confirmation will be made soon. However, as of the moment, Valve has no official announcements about "Half-Life 3" despite the clamor from eager fans.

According to the Christian Times, there is still a chance that the game could be made in the near future, so fans should not lose hope. After all, in an interview with Jeep Barnett — a programmer from Valve — he said that there is still hope for the release of "Half-Life 3." It could even be possible that the new game will become a VR experience, as right now, their team is exploring additional uses for VR headsets.

He added a disclaimer, though, by saying that the while they are not saying "no" to a "Half-Life 3" game, they still do not know what the right thing to do for the franchise is yet. After all, their most precious resource, time, is often not enough for their people to finish everything.

Regardless, the only question now is when the game will be released, as it seems that the developers have no qualms in saying that the sequel has not discontinued.

More evidence for the game's VR version is the "Portal VR" demo showcased by Valve, according to the University Herald. With this, it is possible that the same VR technology will be used in order to give gamers the same amazing VR experience for the title.

Another piece of evidence in the puzzle is that most analysts believe that "Half-Life 3" will undergo a monumental change since its development is taking so long.

Regardless, fans are still waiting for the game to be released, and some eager players are hoping that the "Half-Life 3" game will be launched in 2018.
