'Halo 5' 2016 Halloween updates give gamers 17 new maps, Infection mode

"Halo 5: Guardians," the most recent title in the series 343 Industries, Microsoft

Just in time for the Halloween, the creators of the long-lasting popular game, "Halo 5" has released something that would surely thrill avid fans of the franchise. Right now, the new update for the game has a zombie mode, allowing players to experience the game through 17 creepy yet exciting maps.

According to Game N Guide, the new update for the "Halo 5" game features Infection mode, which is based on a zombie theme. The 17 new maps are confirmed to be available for the new game mode.

One of the most exciting maps in the update is called the "Freakshow," which is designed by one of the "Halo" community members called Weedcough. The map is set at an abandoned amusement park complete with a funhouse and a Ferris wheel.

Another among these maps is one called "Hellfire," which is an industrial sci-fi-themed map that has a dark, brooding, and very temperate aura due to the molten lava as well as flames that give it a hellish look.

Lastly, one of the featured maps in the update is "Drillsite," which features another horror-movie themed element, mainly because it is set in the middle of a body of water while a raging thunderstorm makes the night frigid and dark.

Some of the other maps featured on "Halo 5" look incredible, such as the "Malignant" map, which is made by Nitro and features a lot of wild-growing foliage with a derelict structure complete with a flipped over car.

Another map — called "Nerve Center" — just screams cyberpunk with a bit of an Oriental touch.

Meanwhile, according to the Gamespresso, Infection mode was created way back in "Halo 3," and the mode features a zombie character equipped with an energy sword. It is extra fast and whenever it kills a player, the one slain will become a zombie until no survivors remain.

With the new update, 343 Industries hopes that the game will be much more fun for fans of the "Halo" franchise.
