HTC One M9: New concept image visualizes wider form factor

The alleged HTC One M9 release date is still far off but creative thinkers keep on coming up with new concept images that speculate on the probable specs and features that will appear in the handset. This time, designer Rishi Ramesh imagined the upcoming HTC One M9 with a wider body.

Aside from a wider profile, the latest HTC One M9 render also comes with HTC's signature features such as metallic casing, dual camera with dual tone flash next to it, and BoomSound speakers.

Surprisingly, the HTC One M9 render is similar to Ramesh's design for the future Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which hints that the designer is thinking that the One M9 will be entering the phablet market. Ramesh also came up with a concept image for Galaxy Note 5 almost reaching the screen size of a miniature tablet.

Critics and reviewers often hail HTC smartphones because of their high-end specs and features paired with sleek and sophisticated design. Moreover, the smartphones receive rave reviews and high ratings.  Thus, fans are expecting nothing less from the company's next device.

Earlier rumors stated that the new casing will be made out of an unspecified composite material that will give the new HTC handset a facelift. Also, the HTC One M9 is rumored to pack a 5.2-inch screen panel with QHD or 2K pixel resolution with 564 pixel density, and will be powered by Qualcomm's latest quad core Snapdragon 805 chipset paired with 3 GB of RAM. The handset will surely run with the current Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The HTC One M9 is also predicted to have 64 GB or 128 GB storage variants, and will sport better cameras and battery.

Speculators are pointing to March 2015 as the HTC One M9 release date, more precisely during the Mobile World Congress tech event in Barcelona which will kick off on March 2. However, the Taiwanese manufacturer has not confirmed any of the rumors about the handset.
