"Injustice 2" is without a doubt one of the most highly anticipated titles of recent memory. Being a fighting-themed title, fans cannot help but wonder the game's complete hero roster. Well, interestingly, this has been finally revealed.

According to Heavy, "Injustice 2" boasts of a pretty impressive set of characters, one that totally surpasses the original title. It will feature a total of 28 base heroes, with the addition of one as a pre-order bonus. Add to this the fact that NetherRealm Studios will introduce nine more as part of future downloadable contents (DLCs).

Below is the list of already confirmed fighters coming to "Injustice 2."

  • Aquaman
  • Atrocitus
  • Bane
  • Batman
  • Black Adam
  • Black Canary
  • Blue Beetle
  • Brainiac
  • Captain Cold

  • Scarecrow
  • Supergirl

  • Wonder Woman

The hero coming to "Injustice 2" as a bonus for those who pre-ordered the game is no other than Darkseid. As for the DLC characters, the studio has yet to officially reveal all of them. Nonetheless, the three are Red Hood, Sub-Zero and Starfire. With the release of the title, the video game company is expected to unveil more DLC heroes in the coming weeks or so.

It is worth noting that not all of the aforementioned characters are new to the sequel. Among the staples in the franchise include the likes of Batman, Green Lantern and Superman as well as other lesser-known characters such as Blue Beetle and Firestorm.

"Injustice 2" is set to hit the shelves on Tuesday, May 16, on the console platform (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). The game was first revealed at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, where its first-ever gameplay was showcased. It is expected to have a couple of promising features, one of which is the gear system that rewards players at the end of every match.

NetherRealm recently confirmed that in June, the highly anticipated DLCs will start rolling out. This is completely different from the way things were in the past. The game's very own creative director Ed Boon explained that they are looking to monetize the brand-new gear system for players who want to earn more loot quickly.
