iOS 10 jailbreak release date: The Pangu team has apparently completed the process successfully

iOS 10 and macOS Sierra Apple

Apple released iOS 9.3.3 on the 18th of July, and the popular hacking team Pangu succeeded in completing the jailbreak tool shortly thereafter. The tool is available for download, although only in China, as The Bitbag points out.

One of the defining features of the recently released download is that the jailbreak software is semi-tethered, as Christian Times notes. This means that users of the tool have to run Clydia on their devices when it restarts. Also, the initial version released by Pangu is subject to issues and bugs that require fixing. The hacking team is simultaneously working on sorting out these faults. A smoother version of the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak may be due for release in the near future.

Now, with that out of the way, the focus of the Chinese hacking team is rumoured to have shifted on to the next version of the software – iOS 10. A report on Mobipicker suggests that the Pangu team has already accomplished the jailbreak of the iOS 10 Beta version. This was apparently demonstrated at the Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) that was held on the 1st of July in China.

The official release of the updated software is believed to be scheduled around the same time as the release of the iPhone 7. With the beta version already broken into, it is highly likely that Apple will rectify the flaws in the newest version of the software before the big launch happens.

Alongside the Pangu reports, another Toronto-based hacker who goes by the Twitter handle iH8sn0w posted a video on YouTube, demonstrating that he had been successful in jailbreaking an iPhone 5 running iOS 10 on the device.

With all these favourable developments happening in the jailbreaking universe, it is only a matter of time before a final jailbreak tool for the iOS 10 follows.
