Consumers are looking for electronic devices to tick off in their shopping list for the holidays. Aside from incredible features, buyers are also considering the price since everyone is working within a budget.

The new Nextbook 10.1 could be the answer to the prayers of some consumers looking for an affordable tablet with decent specs. The hybrid tablet boasts features like a detachable keyboard that changes the device into a laptop. Below is the comparison between the specs and features of the iPad Air 2 and the Nextbook 10.1.

Design

Apple's iPad Air 2 is currently one of the thinnest tablets in the market although it packs the same form factor and aluminum casing as its siblings. The Nextbook 10.1 is also lightweight with a sleek and compact design. Being a hybrid tablet, the Nextbook comes with a detachable Pogo keyboard that instantly transforms it into a notebook.

Screen Display

The iPad Air 2 is equipped with a 9.7-inch display and delivers a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at 264 ppi pixel density. Meanwhile, the Nextbook 10.1 has a slightly bigger screen panel of 10.1 inches and a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

Processor

The iPad Air 2 is powered by a dual-core A8X processor with 64-bit architecture and built-in motion co-processor for video graphics. Apple tablet's processor is paired with an estimated 1 GB of RAM. Nextbook 10.1, on the other hand, is powered by a quad-core Intel ATOM processor with 1 GB of RAM.

Operating system

Apple's full-fledged tablet comes with the company's iOS 8 that offers new features such as Apple Pay and iHealth. Nextbook 10.1 runs with the latest Windows 8.1.

Camera

The iPad Air 2 sports an 8-megapixel back camera and a 1.5-megapixel front-facing camera. Quite disappointingly, the Nextbook 10.1 has a 2-megapixel rear shooter and a 0.3-megapixel selfie camera.

Battery

Nextbook 10.1 is supported by a 6000 mAh battery pack, which is less than iPad's 8827 mAh battery.

Pricing and availability

Both tablets are now available for purchase. While the iPad Air 2 costs $399, the Nextbook 10.1 has an affordable price tag of $179 in Walmart.
