iPad Air 3 release date: Tablet rumored for March 2016 launch

Despite Apple releasing all kinds of news related to many of the other products, the one item that company has been relatively silent about is the iPad Air 3.

In the past, Apple has developed a habit of releasing new iPads during the fall season, and earlier in the year, that led people to speculate that this would have presented them with the perfect opportunity to launch the iPad Air 3, according to IT Pro UK.

Apple went in a different direction, however, and they instead opted to unveil the iPad Pro, effectively putting the iPad Air 3's release date in a state of limbo.

Since then, predictions for the release date of the iPad Air 3 have been varied. Although most agree that the tablet will most likely be launched in 2016, what they differ on is exactly when in the year it might show up.

Recently, a rumor from the Chinese website MyDrivers that was subsequently reported on by Alphr, had projected a possible release date for the iPad Air 3, with that timeline pointing to a possible launch in March of next year. The March timeline is not being dismissed altogether, especially since Apple has also made a habit of making big announcements during this time of the year.

If Apple continues to keep the iPad Air 3 under lock and key by March, the belief is that its next possible release date could be in September of that same year.

Some of the rumored specs of the iPad Air 3 have also leaked online, and some of the reports suggest that the new tablet will most likely feature the A9X processor along with RAM that could range somewhere between 2 GB to 4 GB.

The iPad Air 3 is also expected to be thinner than its predecessor while also providing a 9.7-inch screen upon its release.
