The "iZombie" season 3 cast just got bigger with the addition of "Veronica Mars" alum Jason Dohring, who snagged a recurring role in the upcoming season of the hit series.

The actor will play the role of Chase Graves, the brother-in-law of Vivian (Andrea Savage) who is being set up as the big bad for the new season.

Chase also happens to be a member of the Fillmore Graves hierarchy, so he is not to be messed with when he makes his entrance in Seattle in "iZombie" season 3.

Dohring will debut as the character in episode 8 titled "Eat a Knievel." It is looking like he will be involved in Vivian's grand plan to make Seattle "the capital of the zombie homeland."

"iZombie" season 3 will see Vivian act on that dangerous plan and Liv (Rose McIver), with the help of her friends, attempt to stop her from successfully making a zombie hub out of the city.

Speaking to TV Insider about the tension between Vivian and Liv in the next season, executive producer Rob Thomas likened them to "X-Men" characters Magneto and Professor X.

"They're all mutants in the same way Liv and Vivian Stoll are zombies. Both sides want zombies to thrive... but they have radically different views about the best path to survival," he teased.

It is unclear as to how Dohring's character will be roped into the mayhem in "iZombie" season 3, although Entertainment Weekly says he will be bad news to Liv and the gang.

It is also yet to be revealed how many episodes he will appear in, but he is expected to be part of an entire story arc. He might contribute to the increase of the zombie population in Seattle.

Dohring's casting in "iZombie" season 3 is part of Thomas' checklist. "I'd just been emailing Jason, saying, 'We're going to find something great for you this year,' and then he got cast in 'The Originals,' and I sighed heavily," Thomas told TV Line last month.

Now, it looks like Dohring's schedule has finally been opened for the "iZombie" casting that the EP has been hoping.

"iZombie" season 3 will premiere early next year on The CW.
