Colin Trevorrow, who donned the director's hat for last year's Jurassic World, seems to have passed the hat on to J.A. Bayona, who will direct the sequel. Bayona is rumored to be likely to include elements of horror in the upcoming movie.

The director's prior work includes the 2007 horror film – The Orphanage. He also has to his credit two episodes in the first season of Penny Dreadful, Showtime's horror-thriller drama that aired in 2014. Perhaps the nature of all his previous creations, which were all coated with a fine layer of haunting horror, has prompted the rumors of a possible horror track in his upcoming movie.

Yibada reveals that Bayona has been extremely tight-lipped about the plot. He has even gone so far as to adopt a verbal-only means of communication with the cast and crew involved. Trevorrow, who has not entirely washed his hands off the franchise, continues to stay in the ring as one of the co-writers of the film.

According to an account by International Business Times, the director-turned-writer revealed that the plot will not limit the dinosaurs to a theme park this time. They could escape, as Trevorrow went on to disclose. There are also fan theories that involve domestication of the Jurassic beasts, making 'pet dinosaurs' a reality in the upcoming film.

As for the cast, Chris Pratt will be seen again as Owen Grady, the dinosaur trainer. Bryce Dallas Howard will return as Clair Dearing, the operations manager of Jurassic World.

In spite of details of the plot remaining hazy, the release date seems to be quite specific. A simple Google search reveals that the movie is slated for release on the 22nd of June, 2018. With such a long way to go, more spoilers are sure to creep into the rumor mill.
