"Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5" will now be playable on the PlayStation 4. Square Enix released a trailer making the announcement. When these two games launching, alongside "Kingdom Hearts III" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," all of the games in the franchise will be on the PS4.

The reveal trailer showcases that all six games from the PS3 versions of "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5" will be available for the PS4. These include "Kingdom Hearts Final Mix," "Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories," "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days," "Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix," "Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix," and "Kingdom Hearts Re:coded."

Both "Kingdom Hearts" and "Kingdom Hearts II" were originally launched on the PlayStation 2. These are the two main games in the series and were launched in 2002 and 2005 respectively.

"Chain of Memories" was initially a Gameboy Advance title before it was remade for the Playstation, and that installment was launched in Japan in 2007 and in North America by 2008. This game bridged the two main games and tells of the story of Roxas, who turned out to be Sora's Nobody and a member of Organization XIII.

"Re:coded" was a Nintendo DS remake of a Japan-only mobile game and was later given a Playstation 3 HD facelift. This game is a pseudo-sequel to "Kingdom Hearts II," but it only focuses on a digital copy of Sora who is tasked with fixing Jiminy Cricket's journal.

"358/2 Days" launched first for the Nintendo DS in 2009, and "Birth By Sleep" was a PlayStation Portable game launched in 2010. The former is a prequel to "Kingdom Hearts II," and it focuses on Roxas and Organization XIII, while the latter is a prequel to the very first game as it focuses on the events surrounding the Keyblade Wars.

With all of these put together, the entire "Kingdom Hearts" series will be playable on the PlayStation 4, given that "Final Chapter Prologue" comes with the PS4 port of "Dream Drop Distance" as well as a few new games. Completing the franchise is "Kingdom Hearts III" which will also launch on the PS4 sometime in 2017.

"Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5" will launch on March 28, 2017.
