Lenovo Moto M release date, specs: New entry-level Moto phone to debut on Nov. 8?

When Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility, it also absorbed the different lineups like the entry-level Moto E. However, Lenovo seems to want to add its own, newer basic Moto series, as speculations suggest that the new Moto M will launch next month.

Supposedly, reports out of China mention that Lenovo will be launching the new Moto M on Nov. 8 in Guangzhou, China. Should this happen, this means that the current Moto lineup will have two entry-level series. Earlier this year, Lenovo has released the follow-up to the current Moto E lineup, the Moto E Power.

Meanwhile, although it is unclear if the Moto M will really launch early next month, the specs and features for the upcoming iteration were already leaked. The Moto M is supposed to feature an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset that is paired with 4 GB of RAM. There are two versions of the handset, a base model having 32 GB of native storage and a step-up 64 GB storage.

However, there are other supposed leaks that point out the Moto M having a Snapdragon 625 processor, a base model with 3 GB/32 GB RAM/storage option, and a step-up variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The supposed leak also mentions a massive 5,100 mAh battery.

Other specs and features include a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 16-MP main camera, and 8-MP selfie shooter.

Meanwhile, it is also said that the Moto M will be released with another Lenovo iteration, the P2. Looking at the leaks, the Lenovo P2 also seems to share similar specs with the Moto M. Announced at this year's IFA event, the Lenovo P2 is also listed as having a Snapdragon 625 chipset, two RAM variants, and microSD support for up to 128 GB of storage. It will also have the same 5,100 mAh battery. However, the Lenovo P2 will have step-down features as well, since it is said that it will only feature a 13-MP main camera and a 5-MP selfie setup.
