It wasn't too long ago when LG released the G3 handset that turned the heads of many, but the company is reportedly working on the device's successor already.  The LG G4 is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in March next year.

It was initially reported that the LG G4 will follow the previous release timeline of its predecessor, which was announced in May this year and was available for purchase in June. However, rumors are now circulating that LG plans to have an earlier release and introduce the handset in March at the tech event instead. However, nothing concrete has been officially revealed by the South Korean company as of the moment.

LG released an army of successful smartphones like its G series and LG Nexus 4 and 5. These handsets spiked the popularity and the shares of the company, thanks to their high-end specs and features. Last quarter, the G3 alone enjoyed a 16.3 percent share in the smartphone market in North America and sold 16.8 million units.

Last August, the company trademarked the names G4 to G9, which suggests that the company will continue to work on the successors of its most successful smartphone line.

Meanwhile, the upcoming LG G4 is rumored to feature a 5.3-inch screen display with quad HD or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution without bezels. There are speculations that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset with 64-bit architecture. Other reports claim that the upcoming handset will be equipped with LG's own octa-core processor dubbed as Nuclun paired with 4 GB of RAM. It is expected to be preloaded with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Other rumored features of the G4 are 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization technology and 3500 mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be offered in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage.

Furthermore, LG is reported to retain its reasonable pricing strategy to attract more buyers, with the G4 to fall somewhere between the $650- and $700-price range.
