'Longmire' season 5 start date rumored to be set for this fall

Omar and Vic will be reunited in "Longmire" season 5 AETV

The last episode of season 4 from the hit series "Longmire" left fans with a major cliffhanger, and they have been left reeling ever since.

Now new speculations suggest that "Longmire" season 5 will include new characters as the plot thickens and develops around them. CarterMatt reports that Lou Diamond Phillips has already confirmed this will not be the last season of the series. Production is expected to last a few months.

Christian Times mentions that Katee Sackhoff, who plays Vic, has shared via her Twitter account that the production for the fifth season is almost complete.. After production, it will only be a short break for them, with post-production, editing and everything else that is needed happening until the fall premiere.

According to Game n Guide, this new season will feature an actual relationship between Walt and Vic, with Walt finally realizing his feelings for Vic after four seasons of tension. This is also something that has been expected for a while, since Craig Johnson's "Longmire" book series features this relationship in greater detail. However, there is also the possibility of Donna walking into the scene once more, and demanding Walt's attention to support her son.

In other news, it looks like Dylan Walsh, who played Dr. Sean McNamara in "Nip/Tuck," will be joining the new cast as the new villain Shane Muldoon, who masterminded several crimes. Louis Herthum was also confirmed to return for "Longmire" season 5 as Omar. This time, his character will be more vital to the plot as he assists Walt with both old and new problems.

There is still no official premiere date for this series, but the fifth season of the hit series "Longmire" is expected to air in September.
