Superhero movies from both DC and Marvel have had their fair share of successes, but none have compared to the reception of the latest Marvel entry, "Black Panther."

The internet and social media are all in favor of the new "Black Panther" movie, which recently had its world premiere on Monday, Jan. 29. The movie has since surpassed all pre-sales by previous superhero films from the two competitors, DC and Marvel. The premiere received a standing ovation as Director Ryan Coogler took the stage to introduce his cast for the movie, in what the critics are saying is the best superhero film to date.

The cast and setting of the film were praised as top-notch, with Michael B. Jordan receiving attention for his role as the film's villain, Eric Killmonger.

The setting of the movie itself is of real-world problems of race and politics, which makes for an exciting plot with some of the most humanized Marvel characters thrown in, and to which Coogler did not fail to deliver.

Coogler was praised as a king for his work by both the cast and audience, receiving positive comments all around. "You trust what he's saying, because he lives it, he's dreaming about it. He's willing to put himself through sickness in order to get the right thing on the screen," Chadwick Boseman, the star of the film, tells Hollywood Reporter.

The premiere's dress code was simply written as "dress for royalty," as the cast came dressed in full homage to the film's African roots. The cast, who were mostly people of color, took to dressing in their most culturally aesthetic African-inspired garbs "fit for royalty." The premiere's dress code was a fun play on the film's setting of Wakanda, and has been a target of praise by netizens.

Marvel's "Black Panther" movie releases officially on Feb. 16.
