If there's one huge clue to the launching of a new product, it is the price cuts of the version released before it. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 models are getting price cuts, which means that the newer version may be coming out soon. This serves as good news not only for people who want to purchase the current hybrid at a lower price, but also for those who are looking to buy the highly-anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 4 in the near future.

The price cuts for the current Surface Pro 3 can be as much as $150. At the Microsoft Store, the current price for the Surface Pro 3 (i5 processor, 128 GB storage, 4 GB RAM) is $899. It used to cost $999. The i5 processor model with 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM is now priced at $1,149. Before, it was $1,299.

For the i7 processor models, the one with the 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM is now sold for $1,399. Its previous price was $1,549. The 512 GB storage and 8 GB RAM model is now at $1,799 and it previously cost $1,949.

The Surface Pro 3 with i3 processor, 64 GB storage and 4GB RAM is still priced at $799, but it comes with a free sleeve.

Because of the big price drops, many are speculating that Microsoft is gearing up for the release of the Microsoft Surface 4 Pro. While the company isn't denying that the launch of the Surface Pro 4 is drawing near, it continues to keep things hush-hush as it is waiting for the right time to make the announcement. Based on Tech Radar's report, Microsoft might make the announcement during the Microsoft Build Conference to be held this April 29 to May 1.

Additionally, rumors point to a July 2015 release date for the Surface Pro 4. Gadget lovers have high expectations for the new line of tablets because it is deemed to be the most advanced line of tablets that Microsoft will release so far. That said, the specs for the Surface 4 is said to include a 12-inch and 14-inch screen options with a resolution of 2160 x 1440. Higher-end versions may have up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage space.
