ABC renewed the critically acclaimed mockumentary sitcom "Modern Family" for season 8 in March, but speculations claim that the series will finally say goodbye to the Pritchetts after the upcoming season.

In an interview with Deadline back in May, series co-creator Steven Levitan admitted that he has no idea about the show's future beyond season 8.

"I think my personal goal at this point would be 10 seasons," Levitan said. "I don't know if it's attainable or not; I think we'll have to look at it every year, and if we feel like we're just running out of things to say then it will be time to make that tough call."

Levitan's co-creator Christopher Lloyd also revealed some of the challenges of making the show as clever and witty as it was from the beginning of the series.

"In theory, it gets harder every year because there are fewer stories for us to tell," Lloyd said. "But we still stumble into stories where we go, 'Wow, we could have told this in the first or second season.' It was out there, and we just didn't think of it until now. The greatest pressure we feel is not to betray what we started out doing, which is delivering a funny, quality show that reflects real lives and real family emotions."

But while the series is still taking a break, cast member Ariel Winter celebrated a new milestone in her life after graduating from high school on June 13.

The actress, who portrays the role of Alex Dunphy in the sitcom, was one of the fresh graduates from Los Angeles' Campbell Hall School. According to a report from MTV News, the 18-year-old actress will soon attend UCLA to study law.

This means that Winter is almost the same as her TV counterpart, since Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire's (Julie Bowen) middle child is also taking her college courses in Caltech.

"Modern Family" season 8 is expected to return on ABC sometime in September this year.
