The latest rumors surrounding "Mortal Kombat X" are now suggesting that more playable characters could be on their way to joining the game's roster.

The rumors began after game developer NetherRealm Studios broadcast the initial release of Tremor. The newest character added to "Mortal Kombat X" also happened to be the last name on the list of scheduled arrivals coming via downloadable content (DLC) to the game.

NetherRealm Studios showcased many of Tremor's moves and skills during the broadcast, and got fans excited about the new addition to the game's roster, but more when intrigued by what happened near the end of the livestream.

During the latter part of the broadcast, the game's developers started referring to the "Kombat Pack," the game's season pass that gave players access to the new content being added to "Mortal Kombat X," as "Kombat Pack 1," according to Gamespot.

It was the first time that the game's developers had referred to the season pass as "Kombat Pack 1" instead of "Kombat Pack" and it is what has prompted fans to speculate that there will be more to come in what will ultimately be known as "Kombat Pack 2."

It is worth noting that NetherRealm Studios has not actually said that they are planning to add more characters to the game. As of now, the game's developers are staying mum on the matter, but that certainly has not stopped "Mortal Kombat X" fans from letting their imaginations run wild.

According to Gamerant, "Mortal Kombat X" has always been a game that is designed to keep players playing for a long time and new characters will certainly help achieve that goal.

NetherRealm Studios will have plenty of characters to choose from if they decide to expand the roster, as fan favorites such as Rain and Noob are not playable characters so far.

As of now, fans can only hope that the "Kombat Pack 1" designation does indeed translate to a second one waiting in the wings.
