Good news for fans of "NCIS: Los Angeles." The premiere for the eighth season of the exciting procedural drama has been moved up to Sept. 25.

According to a report by TVLine, the air date for "NCIS: Los Angeles" was moved forward after the JonBenet Ramsey docuseries was shortened from an original six hours to four hours.

Aside from a major development in Kensi and Deek's romance in the upcoming season, Callen (played by Chris O'Donnell ) is also expected to meet his match.

A separate report by TVLine suggests that Callen may become closer to Anna, the daughter of Arkady Kolcheck (Vyto Ruginis). The agent has so far not been linked with any other character on the show.

An interview with showrunner R. Scott Gemmill hints that things are about to change as they move up the relationship of the two characters. Aside from Deeks and Kensi, and Callan and Anna, Gemmill hints that Eric and Nell could also have a go at a relationship.

Fans will recall that it was Eric who first developed feelings for Nell, but the following season may see her return his feelings.

Meanwhile, the elusive mole will allegedly be revealed in the early episodes of the season. "The long-unresolved mole issue comes back to bite us in the ass and the team has a limited time to solve it before they all get canned," Gemmill teased. He added that one member of the team will confess to being the traitor and it will impact all the members of the team, especially Sam and his family.

Another relationship that will be explored when the show returns for season 8 is Callan's relationship with his father. In a report by TVGuide, Gemmill promises a visit from Callen's dad, as well as a bunch of action in the field.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" returns to CBS on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
