The injuries just keep on coming for the defending National Football League (NFL) champions the New England Patriots as three players went down in their 33–16 win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

First player hurt was wide receiver Danny Amendola who sustained a left knee injury versus the Titans.

Amendola already injured the knee this season which made him miss their Week 12 defeat to the Denver Broncos.

According to ESPN, the 30-year-old left the game in the second quarter after a punt return; came back to the sideline in the second half; but again headed to the locker room to be evaluated.

After Amendola suffered the injury, there was fear that he might be out for the remainder of the season, but the Boston Herald reported that a source said the injury will not make the receiver miss the playoffs.

Amendola emerged late this season after wide receiver Julian Edelman got injured and is yet to return to action.

In 13 games played this season, Amendola has 63 receptions for 631 yards and three touchdowns.

Unfortunately for the Pats, along with Amendola, linebacker Dont'a Hightower and safety Patrick Chung also got hurt during Sunday's win.

Hightower may have also injured his knee, as ESPN added in its report that the 25-year-old linebacker "hobbled" in the third quarter and was checked at the sideline before he was evaluated in the locker room.

The former member of the Alabama Crimson Tide was unable to check back in after getting hurt, although he returned to watch the rest of the game.

Meanwhile Chung, who is a starter for New England, injured his hip, according to ESPN, after taking a helmet hit to the thigh/knee area in the fourth quarter.

The 28-year-old safety was down for a few moments before being attended to by the Patriots staff and also ending up in the locker room.

New England will have to deal with the growing number of injuries it is having this 2015 with only two weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Patriots will have to face the New York Jets this Sunday for Week 16 action before closing the season against the Miami Dolphins on Jan. 3, 2016.
