Just when everyone thought that Nokia is no longer a tough competitor in the tech market, it announced the new Nokia N1 that boasts awesome specs and features that are at par with other tablets like the Nexus 9 slate from Google.

Surprisingly, the Nokia N1 is not a Windows-based device as it runs with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, just like the Nexus 9. But at $250, the Nokia tablet is more affordable as it costs $100 less than Google's offering. However, the Nexus 9 is now available while the N1 won't be available until February 2015.

Below are the comparison of the specs and features of the Nexus 9 and Nokia N1.

Design

The HTC-manufactured Nexus 9 packs the recognizable design seen in other HTC devices, with its aluminum body and BoomSound front speakers. Meanwhile, the N1 sports a design that resembles the iPhone 6 Plus but larger.

Screen Display

Both tablets feature the same Quad HD (2048 x 1,536) display resolution but there's a slight difference of one inch in screen size. The Nexus 9 sports an 8.9-inch display, while the Nokia N1 sports a 7.9 inch screen panel.

Processor

The new HTC Nexus 9 is powered by a dual-core Nvidia Tegra K1 that has 64-bit architecture paired with 2 GB of RAM. The Nokia N1, on the other hand, is equipped with a quad-core Intel chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz partnered with 2 GB of RAM.

Operating system

Both tablets run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, which also comes with new features such as Material Design, security and battery saver features.

Camera

Both HTC Nexus 9 and Nokia N1 have 8 MP primary camera at the back, but there's a large difference in the front-facing camera as the Nexus 9 comes with a 1.6 MP front-facing shooter and Nokia N1 comes with a 5 MP front snapper.

Battery

The Nexus 9 is backed up by a 6700 mAh battery, while the Nokia N1 is supported by 5300 mAh battery capacity.
