Nintendo NX will not be a sucessor to Wii Or Wii U

The Nintendo Wii and Wii U are far from finished and from all indications will still be around even if the company is planning to introduce a brand new game console in the Nintendo NX.

Of course, one would get the impression that with a new impending game console, one will eventually be kicked out. But if Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima is to be believed based on his interview with TIME, they may be existing side by side.

Even though the Wii U has not really been successful with the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4, it is still up there tagging along. But with another player in the Nintendo NX entering the fray, it seems to indicate that the Japanese company could be betting in another player who could place itself among the ranks of the two top consoles in the market to date.

It remains to be seen what features the Nintendo NX will bring, as well as the games it will carry. Although that should be something grand as well as modern features to date, the most important aspect is perhaps how much Nintendo plans to price the upcoming game console.

Pricing will be important and things just got a bit stiff with Microsoft and Sony pulling down their prices in an effort to ramp up sales.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter hints that the next game console could probably play along the $300 price range, as reported via the Wii U Daily.

His basis is the current market conditions (the price drops mentioned earlier), adding that anything beyond that price point could end up disastrous for Nintendo.

Of course, Nintendo could resort to some freebies instead and perhaps some special deals. But the bottomline is the said console should offer something different and appealing.
