Nintendo Switch news: Big Nintendo Direct event happening soon?

The Nintendo Switch has risen in popularity ever since its launch back in March 2017. With its list of games continuously growing as more and more publishers and developers are making their games for the console, it is no surprise that 2018 will have a lot in store for Switch owners. It would then also be no surprise that the next Nintendo Direct, which allegedly will happen this January, would be a big one.

According to Express.co.uk, Amazon has apparently mistakenly listed a total of 18 unannounced titles. This is quite a big number for all of them to be mistakenly released before any announcement, so fans have started speculating. Given that they are going to be for the Nintendo Switch, many now think that they will be for the Nintendo Direct event. The accidental posting also contained sensitive information like prices and release dates.

Unfortunately, all those 18 titles were subsequently taken down by Amazon. One common thing that was posted in most of those 18 pages was the description that said, "announced at the Switch event." There is possibly no other Switch even soon other than the Nintendo Direct, which Nintendo has not actually set a date for yet.

However, the Amazon listing just aligns with the recent leak that the Nintendo Direct will be happening on Jan. 11, 2018. The leak actually first came out last November when an Electronic Arts (EA) document was found saying that a big Nintendo Direct is happening in January.

ResetEra's John Harker provided the specific Jan. 11 date, while Emily Rogers, who goes by the ResetEra name ArcadeGirl64, supported this info by saying that it is verified. However, she then says that delays may happen, which gave fans some doubt about its authenticity.

Nevertheless, all these clues together hint that Nintendo will definitely need to have a Nintendo Direct soon.
