"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is gaining more muscle with three recurring characters announced to join the upcoming season of the hit Netflix drama-comedy. According to Hypable, the new cast members were tapped by show creator Jenji Kohan in the middle of the production.

The trio joining the series are "Pacific Rim" star Brad William Henke, Mike Houston from "The Drop," and Kelly Karbacz, who starred in "Get Smart." Unfortunately, there are no details as to what roles they will play.

As per Hypable, it is possible that Henke and Houston will be the new guards at the correctional facility owing to their bulky physique. Karbacz, on the other hand, could portray a character that holds a position in the management sector of the penitentiary.

The services of two new beefy sentinels and an administering officer are certainly needed. When the previous season of "Orange Is the New Black" ended, tons of new jailbirds were being brought in. The small number of the prison's custodians could use a lot of help.

In other related news, fans will still see Alex in season 4 after narrowly escaping death in the previous season. Actress Laura Prepon recently explained to TV Guide what the near-death experience did to her character.

"I don't think you're going to see a more timid side of Alex. If anything, she's justified in her paranoia... That empowers her, in my opinion," the actress said.

She also spilled some details about her relationship with Piper.

"You can't control where you heart goes, and Alex and Piper will always have a connection. I definitely think that if Alex needed her or she needed Alex, they would be there for each other completely," Prepon said.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is slated to premiere on Netflix in June next year.
