The previous season of "Orphan Black," in a way, neatly tied up the darkest of seams in the season. This is why season 4 of the series is reportedly starting over and will get the feel of the first season, which lead star Tatiana Maslany would have no problem with.

"Absolutely. That's the season that I fell in love with the show," the actress told TV Line, referring to the freshman run of the hit series. "That first episode was so thrilling to me and captivating when I read it. So I would love to go back to that and the pure roots of the show," she added.

In the season 3 finale, Sarah and her daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler) shared an adorable scene in the snow. Helena and Jesse (Patrick J. Adams) were brought back together once more and Alison won her school over in the elections. Everything felt like all the tribulations came to a close.

In making the season 3 finale, Fawcett Series creator John Fawcett said to Entertainment Weekly that "this is the way we wanted the season to go out, which is with a very different tone. This is kind of almost like an emotional epilogue in a way." He added that the episode was made to feel like a resolution.

But he also reveals that "There are some cliffhangers and we've left some things up in the air, but what this allows us to do in season 4 is it allows us to breathe and reset ourselves a little bit."

It won't be a walk in the park for the characters in "Orphan Black" season 4 though as familiar baddies rising to power in the new season. In the same interview, he teased to how this ties up to the season 3 finale.

"It's interesting to come to the end of our Castor mystery, and how that fits in with Leda and Topside and then to introduce our new foes that we're expecting to see more of in season 4, which is Neolution, which we set-up in season 1.

"Orphan Black" season 4 is expected to air next year.
