With Playstation Plus subscribers in Japan getting "The Evil Within" for free, US subcribers are hoping that it may not be long before the game is included in the free games line up on their end as well. They're keeping their fingers crossed that this will happen in July for Playstation 4.

The Evil Within was one of the most popular games to come out in 2014 and fans are hoping that Sony may see its strategic offer to beef up more interest for its upcoming sequel.

According to a report, the game received stellar reviews from critics and gamers alike, garnering 4 out of 5 stars from Metacritic and receiving an 8.7 rating from IGN.

"The Evil Within is a brutal, challenging, and remarkably fun game. Its eerie world and imaginative enemies are genuinely frightening, and the scares are heightened significantly by the scarcity of resources at your disposal. It keeps the odds stacked against you to the point that they often feel insurmountable, yet it's finely tuned to ensure that they never really are, as long as you can keep a cool head and a steady aim in the face of building panic," IGN's Lucy O'Brien raved about the game.

Subscribers of Playstation Plus have leveled up their expectations from Sony after it released last month a triple A title NBA 2K16 on its list of free games. Gamers saw this as a sign that the free games will not be limited to indies anymore.

For July, they are expecting to get the Remastered version of Resident Evil 6, which may also boost interest for its upcoming sequel Resident Evil 7.

As for the indies to be out on offer, fans are expecting maybe Gone Home, to be included in the roster. For Playstation 3 and Vita, speculations are rife that original Homefront, Resistance 3, or the original version of Resident Evil 6 will be on offer for July.
