A dataminer has uncovered yet unreleased pocket monsters in the latest update of "Pokémon Go."

Niantic recently released an update for the augmented reality game. Version 0.81.1 now allows Trainers to power up their Pokémon to their max combat power (CP), resolves a bug that causes Trainers' contributions to reset when rejoining a Raid Battle, along with a number of bug fixes to improve the playing experience.

That was what Niantic announced. But as always in "Pokémon Go," there are a lot of secrets waiting to be found. Apparently, a huge one was hiding in the latest update.

Chrales, a famous "Pokémon Go" dataminer, found models for Pokémon Ho-Oh and Celebi, as well as a shiny version of Ho-oh. Now, fans of the game believe these legendary pocket monsters will soon become obtainable.

In the Reddit forum, Chrales explained that they made the game client believe that Ho-Oh and Celebi were already in their Pokédex, tricking the system to render 3D models. Screenshots of this can be seen here.

Contrary to what is noted in the photos, the dataminer clarified that these legendaries are genderless and the male/female icons in the models are a result of "some residual bug of blind code edition on my side."

Forbes noted that the CP values and statistics for Ho-Oh have recently been modified, which is what usually happens when a Pokémon is ready to be released. The same thing happened to Mewtwo before it was made available for exclusive raids.

Ho-Oh and Celebi are the only Generation 2 legendaries yet to become available in the game. After Niantic started rolling out Gen 3 Pokémon in the Halloween event, gamers believe it is high time for the two legendaries to come out as well. They hope it will happen during the annual Thanksgiving event.
