One of the most surprising twists in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) last year was when former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was defeated by Holly Holm in Melbourne.

The 29-year-old mixed martial artist had already discussed about how Holm's second-round winning move — a kick to her head — affected her physically, which included a medical suspension. This week on "The Ellen Show," the blonde beauty candidly talked about how her loss affected her emotionally.

Tearfully, Rousey admitted to the host that as she was sitting in the medical room after the fight she asked herself, "What am I anymore if I'm not this?" adding that in that moment, she thought about killing herself.

Thanks to her beau, Travis Browne, who was there with her at that time, she realized that she needs to stay alive to have a future with him.

"To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive," the Sports Illustrated cover girl said in her interview.

She also credited Browne for helping her get through that devastating period in her life.

After her confession, Rousey also told DeGeneres that she started to wonder why she experienced what she considers as one of the worst things that happened to her. She also asked herself what her real purpose is, and then she realized that she just had to be an example of a how a person should pick himself or herself up when he or she is down.

Rousey also shared an important message in her interview: "I really do believe I'm still undefeated because being defeated is a choice. Everybody has losses in their life but I choose to always be undefeated."

Rousey has been candid about how she wants to do a rematch with Holm, who will still be defending her title next month with a fight against Miesha Tate.
