While almost all publications reckon that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S6 on March 1, a day ahead of the Mobile World Congress, there are new speculations that the device will be available for purchase on March 22.

The great reveal of Samsung's handset and its variant with curved screen display is expected to happen at the event, but it will not be available on the same day. This supposition stems from a new leak from Samsung, as shared by Phone Arena, showing the "blackout" dates for the company's employees.

The "blackout" dates are March 22 to 30 and April 19 to 27. The memorandum circulating through SES' Connect advises the staff of the company not to submit time off request or leave during the said dates as the management will decline any request. Meanwhile, employees who successfully filed for some time off on those dates will no longer be able to file additional leaves.

The March dates hint that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will arrive on March 22. It could also be the first surge of the handset's supply.  Taking clues from last year's releases — when Samsung rolled out the Galaxy Note Edge later than its brother, the Galaxy Note phablet — it can be surmised that the other "blackout" dates in late April could be the release of the Galaxy S Edge. There are also speculations that Samsung plans to quietly slip new devices in the market during the said dates.

However, most details regarding the release date of the device are still concealed by Samsung. The pricing and availability will most likely be disclosed on March 1.

In another set of rumors, there is a high chance that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge will share the same specs and features such as 5-inch screen display, octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset with 64-bit architecture, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 20-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The official specs and features of the handset will be revealed in the event to satisfy the curious minds of the waiting fans.
