Samsung just announced the Galaxy S6 Edge following the success of its phablet version, the Galaxy Note Edge.

Both devices boast the same curved display. However, the Note Edge's screen curves to one side while the new S6 Edge's screen curves on two sides.

Below is the comparison of the specs and features of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note Edge.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is smaller, thinner and lighter in comparison with the Galaxy Note Edge since the latter is a phablet sporting a bigger profile. Thus, the former is easier to hold and handle. The new smartphone has two symmetrical curved edges on both sides instead of one, making it lovely to look at.

Screen Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Galaxy S6 Edge offers a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The former has a wide curved screen on one side that serves as a dock for apps and features for easy access.

Processor

The Note Edge is powered by quad-core 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Meanwhile, the S6 Edge is powered by an octa-core 64-bit 14nm Samsung Exynos processor.

Internal Storage

The Galaxy Note Edge is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants and comes with a microSD slot that supports up to 128 GB of additional storage, while the new Galaxy S6 Edge is available in non-expandable 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB internal storage.

Operating System

The new smartphone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. The phablet runs with the latest 4.4.4 version of the KitKat OS, but will be updated to the latest Android operating system.

Camera

The Note Edge includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 8x digital zoom and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera. The S6 Edge, on the other hand, has a 16-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Battery

The Note Edge comes with a 3000 mAh battery, while the S6 Edge houses a 2600 mAh battery.
