It can be presumed that Samsung is threatened by the low sales of the Samsung Galaxy S5, considering the sharp decline in the company's profits this year. The company is reportedly hoping that the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 along with its forthcoming handset, the Galaxy S6, would turn things around for the manufacturer.

The latest leaked specs and features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 hint that the company is cooking up a formidable handset to enter the frontline in the smartphone battlefield. Some of the alleged specs of the Android handset were spotted in AnTuTu benchmark.

According to BGR, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has a model number SM-G925F. The handset will sport a 5.5-inch screen display with quad HD (1440 x 2560) pixel resolution. With such massive screen panel, it has the same screen size as the Galaxy Note 2. However, there are speculations that the Galaxy S6 will not go beyond the 5-inch size of the display.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is purported to pack a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor. Other reports say that the handset will be equipped with Qualcomm's next generation Snapdragon 810 chipset with 64-bit architecture.

Other features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 are: 3 GB of RAM, 20-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage. The handset will also come with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 has no definite release date yet and BGR stated that the South Korean tech giant is far from announcing the handset. It is predicted that Samsung will unveil the device at the Mobile World Congress kicking off on March 2, 2015.

However, Samsung has not commented on the aforementioned rumors, but consumers can expect the rumor mill to work non-stop as the MWC tech event draws near.
