The struggling San Francisco 49ers will have to move forward this 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season without running back Reggie Bush who will be sidelined because of a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL).

In a report and clip provided by Deadspin, Bush appeared to have suffered the injury returning a punt and was pushed out of bounds with the momentum making him continue running until he reached the concrete part of the field and slipped.

The 30-year-old was then carted off the field and never returned to the game, with the 49ers having an initial fear that it might have been an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Unfortunately, it was not only Bush who was injured in the concrete part of the Edward Jones Dome as Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown was also a victim of the surface.

Because of this the Rams want the concrete area in their home stadium to be fixed, according to a report by Fox Sports.

Now Bush will have to sit out for the remainder of the year as he needs to undergo surgery to repair the tear.

In his first year with the 49ers this season, Bush played in five games having only eight carries for 28 yards and zero touchdowns.

Before playing for San Francisco, the second-overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft had stints with the New Orleans Saints, with whom he won Super Bowl XLIV; Miami Dolphins; and the Detroit Lions.

Last season, while playing for the Lions, Bush had 76 carries for 297 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games.

The performance of the former University of South Carolina (USC) Trojan has been dwindling in the past few seasons, with the recent injury being a major setback.

Bush also shared the challenge he faced this 2015 saying it has been an "issue" for him trying to be healthy this season.

Faith is often accompanied by uncertainty, yet it is in stepping forward that we encounter the power of God. The Israelites learned this at the Jordan River, where God performed a miracle only after they demonstrated obedience.
